A number of months ago, Adam (from this site) informed me that I was on page 1 on Google for the key words SKIN CARE PRODUCTS (in Australia). I was stoked! At that time, I was # 7 or 8 or 9 on the page....
Today, I had a phone call from Yellow Pages regarding advertising. We had a long chat, and the guy knew that I wasn't going to spend any more money with YP... but as my new account manager, he was happy to have a chat.
He asked where most of my business came from... and I said "google - organic".
I know I'm #1-3 in keywords like Ahava, Dead Sea Products etc.... but I told him I was on page 1 for Skin Care Products... so he checked it out.
He was so impressed.... and surprised me - when he said I was now in the #4 position!!!!!! And after some "big" skin care companies like Jurlique and Ella Bache.
He said that they would be paying thousands of $$$ for people to be dedicated to SEO and getting those positions! And he was so impressed that I had managed to get there all on my own (and in honesty - I have NO IDEA how I managed to do it!!!!!!!). I don't advertise, I don't key word spam. Whatever it is... I must be doing something right.
