Hi All

My name is Debra and I have an online business that went live I think early August 2009 of which I started thinking about researching from Feb 17th 2009 - thanks to NAB retrenching me from my role as a Finacial Accountant...and giving me some money to start this venture and actually enjoy work...leisure.

I was referred to this site by another member. I had looked at some other sites previously (never signed up)but for whatever reasons I didn't think they matched my needs.

I am a mother of 2 kids one 6 (nearly 7 boy) and a just turned 3 girl.

I have had a real steep learning curve that I have really enjoyed. The actual business retail and toys is new to me as is websites, content management. Social Media blogs flicking adverts....

I have played around with google analytics, all the "free" major business listings..and in the last week I have been advertising on Facebook - paying for fans. Which I was surprised by the demographic targeting it allows..

Given my background I think I enjoy some parts of business running that others might not. And no not the bookwork.

And my one major weakness is self promotion. So here is the website: http://www.shop4toys.com.au

Thanks for reading..

Debra

Thanks everyone for the welcome - I have had a good look around at the older posts (still lots more to go) and it is a great. And of course members websites...easy distraction for me.

I have a few questions ready to ask..but before I do that I will make sure they have not already been covered.

Hi Debra

Welcome & congratulations on your website & business!

It can be a case of learn as you go, while I had a background in web, learning about retail (had been in retail - but along long time ago), buying etc is all a learning curve, but it is a fun journey, except for the bookwork - I too am not a bokwork fan!

Keep going, you have a great site and it does take time, but well done!
