Hi All, I'm Emma and if you can't tell from my user name I want to be a WAHM. Just some background about me... 4 weeks ago I gave birth to my beautiful son Theodore (I also have a 16 month old, Annabelle) and I have come to the realisation that I no longer wish to work in a job that is meh and I'd really love the freedom to be a work at home mum. (And the luxury to earn an income doing something I actually enjoy!) And with that same thought, I realised that I would need to take control if I wanted to realise this dream. So, I have decided that I am going to try and start my own online business from scratch. With no experience, and no ideas (yet!)... I am still determined. I have started a blog to detail my progress towards this goal of becoming a successful work at home mum (WAHM) and ontrepreneur (online entrepreneur). I thought I would share in case there are others out there with similar dreams and goals who wanted to follow this journey. I hope you can come along for the ride! http://wannabeworkathomemum.blogspot.com/
I have just discovered your website but it looks like a wealth of knowledge and I look forward to reading through all its treasures and chatting with other WAHMs. Cheers, Emma

Hi Emma and welcome to WAHM Network. Firstly congratulations on taking the step towards becoming a WAHM, a very empowering decision indeed! I have just read your blog and found it an enjoyable read and look forward to following your journey as you wade through the Dummies series, lol. I'd be interested to know what work you were doing previously as it's obvious you can write, so many people think they can but honestly shouldn't put their names to the dribble that appears. Hi Emma and welcome Enjoyed reading your blog and wish you the best of luck on your WAHM journey. Think about what you are passionate about and what you are good at and see if you can combine the two. Oh yes and being able to multi task very important, you just have to wipe the vegemite and porridge off (Often a sleeve comes in handy there!)

Hi Emma,
After reading your post, you prompted me to join too. I too am tying to find the right opportunity to become a work from home mum. I have three rugrats, 5,3 and 1, and know in my heart I cannot leave them for major lengths of time everyday. My youngest has just started school, and even then there are time restrictions to pick her up etc.
I have many interests, my background being in administration and Sales secretary, my last full-time role being a Sales secretary/PA for a window company , with many roles of admin and reception and hospitality before that. Lately I have been helping my husband with accounts receivables for the past 4 years.
I love my craft- sewing in particular with bags and kids clothing, so not sure whether to start at markets with that. I have been looking on this forum and saw people in Virtual Assistants, and Resume businesses, and this would go well with my background. And then there are the party plans like Intimo and a new one called Your Inspiration, that I have been looking into. I know I just have to decide and take the plunge, but my mind is full on all these different opportunities, and trying to sort out what I would like more, and work at most effectively.
So I have joined this forum too, to gain an insight to WAHM's and opportunities that may arise.
Nice to meet everyone!
Tracie

Hi All, A huge thank you for all of the words of welcome. I can tell that this forum is going to be an absolute wealth of knowledge and I have a list of questions already. It seems that the only challenge will be finding the time to make the most of this resource. Although obviously it is possible as you are all proving. Liz, you asked what my job is (I am on parental leave) - it is in people management.. in insurance... LOL. So I am sure you can understand why it is not really allowing me to scratch my creative itch Anyway, both babies are having their nap so there is much to do. Speak to you all soon. Emma
