awww.... thank you lovely ladies. My Hubby lived up to his reputation and "forgot" my birthday... AGAIN! Yes it is on Valentines day - has been for the last 42 years! Not hard to forget it with all the marketing that goes on! Liz... it was your SMS at midnight that 'reminded' him. In the morning, he went to the tip to offload our trailer & he took shaun with him. What should of taken 40 minutes... took around 3 hours. In that time my father & step mum unexpectantly knocked on my door. We haven't spoken much for a year... so this was a big effort for them. They bought me some flowers, a card and a $50 voucher. They were heading off to lunch so couldn't stay too long (which is probably a good thing). Hubby returned home with big bunch of flowers (probably spent way to much for them).... and jewellery... which looked like diamonds... but weren't! And the rings wouldn't fit my fingers.. and they were silver and all my other rings are yellow gold. (clueless). He said I could return them. So I did. I was able to get a full cash refund back, as there were no rings that I liked or would fit my middle finger. So... I got a haircut, then a pedicure.... then a one hour massage!! And I feel brilliant now. Waiting on hubby to come home from a quick job he had to do... and we'll get organised and go to the drive in movies to see "Valentine". In the end, I've had a lovely day. Thank you so much for your lovely wishes... here and on my facebook page. I feel really loved by you guys!!!!!!!!!!!

oh yeah... the Dandy one! It pumps! We got there an hour early tonight, and most of it was FULL !! We went a few weeks ago and saw the chipmunk movie. Tonight we put a matress in the back... and after shelli was hyper she just hit the deck and slept for the rest of the night. Shaun played on the iPhones so that kept him busy/quiet. The movie was pretty good. And at the end of the day, I'm a happy girl. And next year... I'm going to make sure he doesn't forget. I will leave post it notes all over the house with messages like... "do you want your wife to cry on her birthday?" and "no flowers, no teddy bears, no jewellery needed" Do you think that would do the trick????

Glad to hear that he actually got you something for your b'day! And you got to pamper yourself. Next time, just do what I do - no hints, just tell him straight, "It's my b'day in a week's time". Sometimes, men need to be reminded directly. Seriously.

I'm starting to realise that now Norlin. I keep thinking that one day he will "get it" That the drama each year is not worth it, and he'll be prepared the next year. But I'm giving up on that idea. Next year - I will tell him what I want. The unfortunate thing is that you can't really go out to dinner on Valentines Day as it is madness at the restaurants. We did it once, and the service was shocking, the food cold & late, and they had crammed about 30 more tables into a very small restaurant. So we said never again. I must say... I really did enjoy the evening at the drive in. I could make that an annual thing

Happy birthday Jodie! I hear you about clueless men - my husband didn't even bother to wrap my measly DVD present for my b'day last month. Do you think it's too late to trade him in??! I Will Invitations: invitations to entice and intrigue: wedding invitations
